The St. Anselm Workforce Ministry Event
“Using Social Media in the Job Search:
An Introduction”
On November 5th The St. Anselm Workforce Ministry along with its partner organization “Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow” (www.obtjobs.org) presented a new workshop, “Using Social Media in the Job Search: An Introduction”, geared for individuals looking to enter or move up in the job market. The evening began with opening words of greeting and a prayer by our Msgr. Jack Maloney. Randy Peers, the CEO of “Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow”, gave an overview of the various types of Social Media tools and platforms on the Internet and their relative applicability for networking. Randy, aided by staff members Janet Tsakos and Daniel Velez, then focused on using Linkedin as a way of developing a professional profile and enhancing strengths and opportunities for career advancement. The workshop ended with a question and answer period.
The St. Anselm Workforce Ministry has enjoyed a wonderful partnership with our friends at “Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow” an organization whose mission is to help disadvantaged youths and adults recognize their potential through job training, academic reinforcement, improved life skills, job placement, & support services.
The tentative date for our next St. Anselm Workforce event is Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015. Please watch our website (stanselmbayridge.org) for more information.
All the best,
