April 20, 2016 – “Pathways to Job Opportunities: Finding the Job that Works for You” Workshop

The St. Anselm Workforce Ministry had yet another successful workshop on April 20th when more than 40 participants gathered in Meletia Hall for a presentation by our new partners at the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.  Msgr. Maloney greeted the participants and offered a prayer for employment.  Athena Hernandez, the Director of the Chamber’s “Good Help Services” program (ibroooklyn.com), provided literature and discussed the types of jobs available through the program.  In addition, Athena provided valuable tips on resume & cover letter development, the interview process, and how and when to follow-up on an interview.  Athena and Lara Pantine, her colleague from the “Good Help Services” program also met with participants individually to answer any questions, provide resume feedback, and collect the resumes of participants interested in jobs promoted by the Chamber.

The feedback from the participants was overwhelmingly positive with many asking for additional workshops on resume development and interview skills.  We look forward to a long partnership with our friends at the Chamber’s “Good Help Services” program and offer our participants our payers & best wishes in their job search endeavors.

All the best,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee

Prayer for Employment

Dear God, I place my humble needs before you.

My need to meet my responsibilities in the world.

My need to use my God-given talents & abilities.

My need to fulfill my place here on earth.

I pray for Your guidance now to show me the way to the

perfect opportunity to do what I love, to do what I can do well,

& what will fulfill my needs mentally, spiritually, & financially.  Help me to walk in faith as You show me the way!

Thank You, Lord.  Amen.  (prayersforspecialhelp.com)
