August 20, 2016 – Farewell Seminarian Simon

As most of our parishioners know, our wonderful seminarian, Simon Galazyn, who had come to us from Michigan, left St. Anselm on August 20th to continue studying for the priesthood in a much closer location — St. Joseph’s Seminary in Dunwoodie.  He spoke at every mass during the weekend of August 13th & 14th thanking everyone for their kindness, goodness, faith and generosity and for making him feel so at home in his adoptive parish.  Simon’s gentle spirit shone through as he thanked Msgr. Maloney, Msgr. Phillips, Fr. Kull, Fr. Saffron, Bro. Robert, Sr. Regina, and Deacon Davis for their help and kindness for these past 7 months.  He also thanked the parishioners for their warmth and asked that they pray for him.  He summed it up best by saying “I had beautiful time at St. Anselm parish”.

During his time living at St. Anselm, Simon assisted at masses, worked in the parish with the priests, and continued to improve his English skills.  He has been a joyful presence at St. Anselm greeting each and every parishioner as an old friend.

We are elated to say that Simon will be returning to visit his St. Anselm family and ask that you keep our friend in your prayers.

All the best,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
