December 12th – 14th, 2014 – Winter Wonderland

Winter Wonderland

Sleigh bells ring,

Are you listening?

In the lane,

Snow is glistening.

There may not have been any sleigh bells ringing or snow glistening around Bay Ridge on the weekend of December 13thand 14th, but inside St. Anselm Catholic Academy there were definitely sleigh bells, snow and more. There was Christmas joy as Saint Anselm parishioners, neighbors, Academy parents, students, and alumni took part in the annual Winter Wonderland.

Games, rides, holiday foods, and shopping were the order of the day for folks from one to ninety-three. All the fun filled activity in the McMahon Auditorium centered on a giant Christmas tree, large enough to rival a production of “The Nutcracker”.

Children enjoyed toy land, arts and crafts, games, and numerous treats, as well as the opportunity to view Santa’s workshop and have a personal visit with old Saint Nick (who was not reporting if they were naughty or nice). Adults enjoyed foods and beverages, and the opportunity to engage in some last minute Christmas shopping.

Visitors were reminded of the true meaning of Christmas while viewing the living Nativity in Meletia Hall.

Prior to the Winter Wonderland weekend, alumni and parents’ of the Academy’s students gathered on Friday evening, December 12th, for a holiday party and reunion. Proceeds from the wonderful weekend activities help support the excellent educational programs of Saint Anselm Catholic Academy.

All the best,

The Saint Anselm Publicity Committee
