The Young at Heat Club (YAH) of St. Anselm, under the guidance of President Pat DeStasio, celebrated the conclusion of another successful year with a luncheon on June 15th at the Bay Ridge Manor. The group, which is open to all, holds its meetings in Meletia Hall in St. Anselm Catholic Academy on Mondays from September through June, 10 AM to 1 PM. The meetings include planning trips and events, refreshments, and Bingo.
On Wednesdays the Arts and Crafts Club of YAH meets in Meletia Hall at 10 AM and welcomes individuals of all talent levels to create beautiful knit wear. There are always skilled crafters present and ready to share their expertise and love of crafts with interested beginners. Their creations are frequently for sale at the regular Monday YAH meetings and on special occasions such as the Parish’s Sunday Socials and the Academy’s Winter Wonderland.
Throughout the year members enjoy the opportunity to take part in activities, such as trips to Atlantic City, theater productions, and racing at Belmont Park. Additionally the Young at Heart supports the St. Anselm Food Pantry with regular donations and makes donations to St. Anselm Parish and St. Anselm Catholic Academy.
During the summer the club will be holding one meeting in both July and August and will then resume a weekly schedule on Monday September 14th, a week after Labor Day. We wish them a restful summer break and a successful 2015 – 2016 year.
If you are interested in becoming a member of the Young at Heart or the Arts and Crafts Club, please contact Sr. Regina Corde.
All the Best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
