November 9, 2014 – St. Anselm Salutes Veterans

In a cherished tradition at St. Anselm, the parish paid tribute to veterans of all the branches of the United States Military, both living and deceased, and particularly those who sacrificed their lives for America’s freedoms.

A special Mass was held on Sunday, November 9th, at noon. Veterans, accompanied by their spouses and families, processed up the center aisle to seats of honor at the front of the church for a liturgy celebrated by Fr. Martin Kull in thanksgiving for their service. The homily focused on the sacrifices made by the countless members of our military and the debt we all owe as Americans for the selfless devotion they offered for our country.

The hymns, concluding with the recessional: The Battle Hymn of the Republic, set the tone of celebration and remembrance for the service, which we honor and hold dear, offered by our Veterans.
