A New Start! September 27th Sunday Social

On the first Sunday in Autumn, with the new school year just starting up, a hint of cooler temperatures in the air, and the Ragamuffin Parade and the Third Avenue Festival scheduled for the next weekend, it was clear that it was a time for new beginnings at St. Anselm’s as well.

On Sunday, September 27th, parishioners gathered to share conviviality with friends and neighbors, learn about each other’s plans for the fall, and to catch up with one other on what everyone had done during the summer. The bumper crowd in the Academy’s McMahon Auditorium enjoyed delicious treats, juice, coffee, tea and wonderful hot chocolate with marshmallows! Students from the Academy shared “Flat Francis” figures of the Pope that they had made to celebrate the visit of His Holiness to New York.

The Sunday Social volunteers, like all the many parishioners and Home Academy members who serve in so many ways, made the morning go effortlessly, setting up, serving, and cleaning up while our “guests” enjoyed the refreshments and caught up on what was “new”.

All the best,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
