September 8th was a busy but productive first day back for SACA (St. Anselm Catholic Academy) teachers and staff. The day began with updates from principal, Jim McKeon and was followed by an opportunity to work in classrooms and most importantly, to attend the 11 am Mass, celebrated by Fr. Saffron, whose homily touched on our responsibility to model Christ in our daily lives. In the afternoon the teachers met in the Tech Lab where they received professional development on incorporating educational websites to enhance learning. (SACA is a tech savvy academy with “Smartboards” in every classroom and weekly computer classes for the students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.)
The teachers spent the remainder of the afternoon working in their classrooms, preparing for the students’ arrival the next day. But, our energetic and dedicated teachers and staff didn’t stop decorating at the classroom door. They also peppered the hallways with welcoming displays, inspirational quotes, information about high schools, and posters depicting American milestones such as the painting “Washington Crossing the Delaware”. It was a productive day for all. We wish our beloved students, parents, faculty, & staff a fabulous school year!

God of wisdom and might, we praise you for the wonder of our being, for mind, body and spirit. Be with our children as they begin a new school year. Bless them and their teachers and staff. Give them strength and grace as their bodies grow; wisdom and knowledge to their minds as they search for understanding; and peace and zeal to their hearts. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
