June 4, 2017 – Fr. Szymon’s Reception

Fr. Szymon’s wonderful Ordination weekend continued at his reception, which immediately followed his first Mass at his “home” parish of St. Anselm!  Well-wishers packed Meletia Hall to celebrate the glorious event.  Happy parishioners had a chance to greet each other and share their joy while awaiting Fr. Szymon and his family.  His arriving family members were treated to a round of applause as they were shown to their table.  And then Fr. Szymon entered, had a bite to eat with his family and began blessing the long line of parishioners.

Guests enjoyed an array of sandwiches, wraps and tasty salads.  Dessert included coffee, tea, cookies, cupcakes, fresh fruit and a choice of chocolate or vanilla cake.  Fr. Szymon, as busy as he was preparing for his Ordination and first Mass, remembered that Msgr. Maloney’s birthday was June 4th and ordered a birthday cake to celebrate!  Well-wishers cheerfully sang “Happy Birthday” as Fr. Saffron presented the cake to Msgr. Maloney!

Events like this would not be able to occur without our volunteers: Bob, the Eileens, Florence, Helen, Jeanine, Josephine, Kim, Lynne, Michele, Peter and Cono, and Msgr. Maloney who made possible this wonderful occasion.  A special thanks to Josephine & Helen for creating such beautiful floral arrangements that brightened the tables and to Ada for assisting Fr. Szymon.  Finally, we thank all our parishioners who attended the reception you’ve proven once again that no one parties like St. Anselm!

All the best,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
