October 2nd was a very exciting day at St. Anselm Catholic Academy when Fr. Stephen Saffron visited Mrs. Ghorra’s first grade class for the 3rd Annual Blessing of the Stuffed Animals. The busy children completed their Math activities and readied their stuffed animals or photos of their family pets to be blessed. The result was a menagerie that included teddy bears of all sizes, pandas, lions and even a hedgehog.
Fr. Stephen asked each child the name of his or her beloved animal and introduced a special guest – his teddy bear named “Sepp”. He talked about the comfort that animals give us and explained that God is always there to comfort us as well. Fr. Stephen then blessed the children and their animals. We can’t wait for next year!
All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
