Creatures great and small and their humans gathered at the front steps of St. Anselm Church on Saturday, October 7th for the annual Blessing of the Animals. Monsignor Maloney began with a reading from the Book of Genesis and then individually blessed each pup & kit.
This joyful event is usually held the Saturday after the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi (October 4th), the patron saint of animals. During inclement weather attendees gather in the main vestibule of the church for the event.
On behalf of Banjo – the brave little foster kitten and Emmett, our feline friends, and Maisie, Perseus, Mango, Jackie, Gilly, Mikey and all the other dogs and their humans who love them, we thank Msgr. Maloney for a joyous, purr-fect ceremony. We hope that you will join us next year – with or without a furry friend!
All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
All things bright & beautiful,
All creatures great & small,
All things wise & wonderful,
The Lord God made them all.
