After the recent snows of March, the relative warmth of Saturday, March 31st, was a welcome sign that the season of spring had arrived and that the holiest day in our calendar – Easter, was upon us, as on the morning of Holy Saturday an energetic and dedicated group of parishioners came together to decorate the church for Easter.
Red, pink, magenta, and white azaleas, hydrangeas, and Easter lilies sat in the Rosary Chapel waiting to be unpacked. The volunteers quickly got busy watering all the flowers and tying-up the long-stemmed Easter lily, and then arranging the flowers around the altar, in front of the Baptismal Font and by the beautiful shrines. The altar cloth was lovingly placed along with the Easter banner and the statue of the Risen Christ.
Friends, old and newly discovered, discussed their Easter plans while working together to see what else needed to be done to prepare our beautiful church for the Easter Solemnity. We thank our Decorating Committee members: Danielle, Linda, Kim, Bernadette, Ann, Dan, Florence, Ossie, Bob, Eileen, Cono, Regina, Diane, Donna, Philip, Jane, and Fr. Stephen for their loving commitment. We also thank our generous parishioners for their Easter Flower donations, which made it all possible.
All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
