This just in: The SACA (St. Anselm Catholic Academy) Drama Club has another smash hit! On May 3rd, the talented students gave 2 performances of the wonderful show “Seussical Kids” which is based on “Seussical the Musical”. The evening began with a welcome by principal James McKeon who also led the audience in the “Pledge of Allegiance” and the “Our Father”. Then the excitement began with the performers entertaining us with one lively fast-paced song after another. Numbers included: “Oh, The Thinks You Can Think”, “It’s Possible”, and “Green Egg and Ham”.
The musical, which was directed by teachers Diane Bruno and Angelica Capotorto, is the culminating event of the highly popular Drama Club and was presented twice with two different casts to showcase the talents of all the club members! And in true Broadway fashion there was also a very popular concession stand offering cold water, snacks, and, of course, Seussical tees and sweatshirts for sale with all proceeds going to the Drama Club.
There are many to thank for this terrific event: the families for coming out and supporting our young actors, the students who helped with props and set decorations, Mr. McKeon for his ongoing support of the SACA clubs, the Ruocco and White families for concession coordination, the Narrows Community Theater and Home Academy Association for help with costumes, and finally, the directors and stars of the show. We thank you for another marvelous musical. We can’t wait for next year!
All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
