October 5, 2018 – SACA Students Walk for Education

The annual SACA Walk for Education took place on October 5th – and it was one for the record books!  For the first time the students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 all made the journey to the newly refurbished St. Anselm Ball Field.  When the children reached their destination, thereby completing their Walk, they were rewarded with a lively DJ, hula hoops, an assortment of sports balls, and frisbees to keep them moving!  The always-prepared parent volunteers were on hand with water and snacks to keep the active children hydrated and contented.  The DJ introduced a rousing game of “Rock, Paper, Scissors, Hula Hoops” that students of all ages enjoyed. And, before you knew it, it was time for the students to return to their classrooms to prepare for half-day dismissal.

There are many to thank for this successful fundraiser—starting with the SACA families and friends who sponsored the students.  The funds raised will be used to enhance educational programs at SACA.

A wonderful event like the Walk for Education requires much planning and coordination along with many volunteers to provide a safe walk and fun experience for the children.  We thank the officers from the 68th precinct, the Home Academy Association and Parent Volunteers along with SACA Board Member Bob Fugowski and Principal (and snazzy dresser) Kevin Flanagan for their hard work and dedication.  We are grateful.

If you would like to contribute to the Walk for Education or learn more about the wonderful things happening at SACA, please visit their website at sacany.org. And as always, please keep our students, parents, teachers, administrators, and staff in your prayers.

All the best,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
