The evening of Saturday, October 27th was Wunderbare at St. Anselm’s Meletia Hall. The second St. Anselm Oktoberfest, sponsored by the St. Anselm Catholic Academy Home Academy Association and the Parish, was a great success and joyous fun-filled evening for partygoers.
Guests enjoyed a delicious buffet of German specialties featuring Wiener schnitzel, sausage in sauerkraut, red cabbage, German potato salad and other specialties from M & M Catering.
The music of Bernie’s Orchestra provided a medley of German tunes, both popular and less well known, as well a mix of traditional melodies for the pleasure of those who wanted to dance or sing along with the band members.
Throughout the evening there was the continuous purchase of 50/50 tickets and raffles for gift baskets, which included gorgeous baskets from Charmed by JLM, an armload of hand bags, a basket of cheer, gift cards from Schnitzel Haus, the Salty Dog, and a Beer Garden– the winners went home happy and the non-winners went home hopeful for the next occasion!
Danke schoen to Co-Chairs Jeanine Condon and Michele Soto and their wonderful helpers – Jim Condon, Cono, Jack Deem, Stephanie Kearney, Peter & Eileen Loughlin, Regina McPadden, Simone Mouakkassah, John, Barbara and Kiera Thomas, Andrew & Eileen White. We are also indebted to the Condon, Corsi, Dean, Kassenbrock, Loughlin, Savage, Soto & Thomas families for their generous gift basket donations. Finally, a great big thank you to Monsignor Maloney for his support and to all our guests who came to have a marvelous time while supporting our Parish and Academy.
All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
