St. Anselm Catholic Academy was the place to be on Sunday, March 24th for the annual St. Patrick’s Day Party, which began after the Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Partygoers were treated to the sounds of the wonderful “Band of Rogues” who performed Irish and Rock classics such Galway Girl, The Wild Rover, Black Velvet Band, Cotton Fields and, the final song of the night, God Bless America. The youngest partygoers had a ball dancing to the lively music and creating masterpieces from the artistic material supplied by the thoughtful party organizers.
While the guests caught up with each other and enjoyed delicious Irish Soda bread, corned beef, shepherd’s pie, veggies, and mac & cheese from M&M Caterers, the special guests — musicians from the Breezy Point, Gerritsen Beach, Knights of Columbus, Sandy Hook and the NYC Department of Sanitation Pipe and Drum bands entered the hall and gave a rousing performance on bagpipes and drums.
Family-friendly events like this could never occur without the volunteers who plan, set-up, serve, and cleanup afterward. SACA is truly blessed to have the wonderful volunteers who served on the St. Patrick’s Day Party Committee: Chairs Regina McPadden, Michele Soto, & Barbara Thomas along with volunteers Kiera, John, Sammi, Gabi, Katie, Lynne, Natalie, and Tony. We were the grateful recipients of your hard work and eye for detail and we thank you for a lovely time. We hope you’ll put your Irish on next year and join the fun!

All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
