June 1, 2019 – St. Anselm Catholic Academy Fathers’ Club Bar-B-Q

There’s a set of events that signal the winding down of the school year at St. Anselm Catholic Academy, and one of the most enjoyable of these is the Bar-B-Q Fundraiser hosted by the Fathers’ Club on Saturday evening, June 1st.

The space between the church and the academy and the old convent was alive with happy children playing games and festooning the walls and pavement with designs and drawings in brightly colored chalk. And, while the children played their parents talked about the soon-to-be-finished year and their plans for summer.

Diets were discarded for the moment, as bags of treats along with hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob and delicious salads, catered by Bassett Caterers  – were the order of the day.

A most welcome surprise visit was the appearance of Roger: the Big Silly Guy  (pirate/magician) who entertained the young members of the audience with tricks and fun-filled facts about the sea.

“Thank you” to the members of the Fathers’ Club, and its president – Mark D’Addona, for hosting this wonderful, joyous event each year, and for all they do for the Academy throughout the year. This fundraiser, one of many hosted by the Academy’s moms and dads, help to support the outstanding educational programs (visit www.sacany.org) offered by St. Anselm Catholic Academy.

All the best,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
