On Sunday, June 2nd, the Saint Anselm Holy Name Society’s held its annual Used Clothing Drive for the benefit of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Parishioners and Bay Ridge neighbors came by the dozens during the morning to empty out their closets for a very good cause.
Dresses, suits, slacks, shirts and blouses, boots, shoes, belts and purses, as well as lots of casual wear were contributed by the bagful – all to benefit the St. Vincent DePaul Society in stocking racks in their stores to provide income for their charitable programs to those in need.
We thank the St. Vincent de Paul Society for providing this much-needed service. And, give a special thank you to the driver of the collection van, Atwa, who greeted all the donors with a smile and a thank you.
For more than a century the St. Vincent de Paul Society has served those in need in Brooklyn, and throughout the United States and the world.
A Prayer to St. Vincent de Paul
O Lord, give us the grace
That you bestowed
Upon your servant, St. Vincent de Paul,
To relinquish that temptation
Of material things
In our holy effort
To minister to the poor.
Thank you St. Anselm Parishioners for your support!
All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
