October 26, 2019 – Youth Activities 17th Annual Halloween Costume Dance Party

This just in:

On October 26th, the basement of St. Anselm Catholic Academy was overrun by skeletons, mummies, and vampires!  Luckily there were also superheroes, police officers, and soldiers to restore order and princesses to provide proper decorum as they all gathered in Meletia Hall for the 17th Annual Halloween Costume Dance Party sponsored by the St. Anselm Youth Activities program.

Co-chairs Christina Cafiero & Melissa Lavin planned a lively afternoon which included a Haunted Maze, ring toss, skeeball, a Wheel of Fortune, and arts and crafts tables.  If you were feeling lucky, you could guess the correct number of candy corn in the pumpkin and take it home or you could buy raffle tickets for the terrific gift baskets.  There was truly something for everyone.  Every attendee enjoyed pizza, ice cream, cookies and drinks, and a DJ played great tunes to get everyone on their feet between courses.  A definite crowd-pleaser was the “Mummy Wrap” where patient children and adults were “mummified” with a roll of “bandages”.  Finally, each child left with a goodie bag and a pumpkin.

This sold-out event was a success due to the hard work of the Co-Chairs Christina and Melissa and committee members John Cafiero, Lulu Commaratto, Mary Corsi, Tina Dempsey, Michelle Gellar, Seamus Lavin, Christina Mortillaro, & Michele Soto.  In addition, junior volunteers Gabi, Nick, Christina, Kenzy, Giovanni, Jacob, Joya, Valerie, Jared, Sofia, & Owen deserve a round of applause for their great work helping the children with the fun and games.  We can’t wait for next year!

All the spooky best,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
