November 6, 2021 – Alex Lambert’s Eagle Scout Project

Alex Lambert of St. Anselm Boy Scout Troop 13 took an important step on Saturday, November 6th, toward completing his journey to Eagle Scout by painting grandstand #2 of the Ben Vitale Fields at 14th Avenue and Cropsey Avenue. Mrs. Pam Kelter, of Scout Troop 13, coordinated the project with the New York City Parks Department. Scout leaders, family, classmates and friends assisted Alex in completing the project, by joining him on Saturday.

Being an Eagle Scout is the highest rank to which a boy scout may aspire. Since the Eagle Scout rank was introduced in 1911 only 4% of scouts have obtained the rank. In order to be eligible to seek the honor a scout must earn 21 merit badges and demonstrate leadership, the ideals of scout spirit, and the completion of an extensive service project – Alex’s painting of the grandstand.  Thanks to the large number of supporters who turned out the project painted twice the amount of grandstand originally planned.

Alex still has a few merit badges to obtain and hopes to complete all the work necessary for the Eagle Scout rank in a few months.

We congratulate Alex as he works towards the completion of his Eagle Scout requirements and say “thank you” to the leaders and parents of Scout Troop 13 for their selfless dedication to promoting the ideals of scouting.

All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
