November 6 & 7, 2021 – Scout Troop 13, National Youth Leadership Training

Scouting’s National Youth Leadership Training is a 6-day long program designed to develop: leadership, communication, planning, problem-solving, and teamwork skills, while also having scouts participate in fun outdoor challenges. The program is open to both boys and girls. The ideal is that at the conclusion of the training a scout will have the skills to be a great leader in their troop and community.

Each year, Troop 13 sponsors several scouts to attend National Youth Leadership Training. The Troop picks up between half and three-quarters of the scouts’ expenses through the troop’s fundraising program. This year the troop sponsored 8 scouts, 7 of whom were able to attend the final event, which took place on the weekend of November 6th and 7th.  Scout Troop 13 participated along with a number of other troops from the New York area in the final culminating activity, the presentation of certificates to the scouts who had successfully completed the training program.

Congratulations to the members of Scout Troop 13, and to all the other scouts in attendance, on their successful completion of the training.

Thank you – to the Scout Troop 13 leaders and parents for encouraging the ideals of scouting in our young people.
