November 7, 2021 – Scout Troop 13, Marathon Sunday Service

Saint Anselm Boy Scout Troop 13 returned to 4th Avenue for Marathon Sunday – November 7, 2021. Members of the Troop served as volunteers at the 81st – 82nd Streets water station.

This volunteer service is a major commitment by the Troop. Participation by volunteers has to be approved beforehand. They need to be on-site well before 8 AM, when the race begins, and they need to make the commitment to being on duty till the last runners have passed, in the early afternoon.

While the weather cooperated in being perfect for the runners – filling and giving out countless cups of water on a November morning must be acknowledged as a highly commendable activity.

Our thanks and appreciation to the numerous members of the Scout Troop, to their moms and dads, and to their scout leaders for this wonderful tradition of service – exemplifying the ideals of scouting: a Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

All the best,
