Sunday, November 14th was damp, but it didn’t matter. It was also quite cold, but it didn’t matter to all the St. Anselm Parishioners and friends of St. Anselm who joyfully brought their donations to the Louise Troisi Winter Clothing Drive. Our friends at Catholic Charities of Brooklyn & Queens (CCBQ) contacted us asking for donations of warm outerwear, undergarments & blankets for families in need and we got busy organizing and publicizing the event to help as many men, women & children as possible. And our Parishioners and friends answered the call by cheerfully donating enough coats, sweatsuits, socks, blankets, and even sneakers to fill a van and a half. In addition, the Knights of Columbus at St. Patrick Parish heard about our event and donated 69 children’s coats as well. We are, once again, thankful and humbled by your generosity and kindness.
We are grateful to our hearty group of volunteers and to John Gonzalez of CCBQ for his help and goodwill. A big “thank you” is owed to our Parishioners, Parish Friends, and the Knights of Columbus for your generous donations. You have truly made a difference in the lives of those in need.
The Louise Troisi Clothing Drive is a part of the St. Anselm Parish Care Ministry. If you would like to be part of this wonderful Ministry, please contact the Rectory. Volunteers are the heart of every Parish; we hope you’ll join us!
All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
