On Sunday, March 27th, Bay Ridge Catholic Academy celebrated the return of the Bay Ridge St. Patrick’s Day Parade with a joyous gathering in the Academy’s McMahon Auditorium.
While the guests enjoyed an amazing selection of foods, from traditional Irish soda bread to the ever popular pizza (party goers brought their own eats this year) they enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with each other on how everyone was doing, while the kids played happily underfoot. They also had the opportunity to try their luck on a beautiful selection of donated raffle gifts, as well as a 50/50 Raffle, all to help raise funds for the Academy.
Hundreds of partygoers enjoyed a mix of Irish songs and popular favorites offered up by “Band of Rogues”. And then…they were regaled by the visit of a traditional Pipe and Drum band, which in addition to performing Irish favorites played patriotic selections such as the “Marine Corp Hymn” and “God Bless America”.
Events, like this, happen because of the wonderful people who volunteer to do the planning, set-up, cleanup, and countless other chores – all of them important. BRCA is truly blessed to have St. Patrick’s Parade Party Committee Chairs – Michele Soto and Barbara Thomas, along with the many volunteers, who made this family-friendly event possible.
Please visit the Bay Ridge Catholic Academy homepage (www.brcany.org) and the Home Academy Association Facebook page to learn more about the wonderful activities at BRCA.
All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
