April 30, 2022 – Blue & Gold Dinner 2022

On Friday, April 29th a band of volunteers led by Chair Christina Cafiero busily worked to transform Meletia Hall into the magical world of Harry Potter which was the theme for the Annual Cub Scout Blue & Gold Dinner.  Decorations were put up and the Cub Masters decorated their Pack’s tables.

The festivities began the next day at the 5pm Mass as the Scouts and their families attended Mass at St. Anselm and took part in the procession.  During his homily, celebrant Msgr. Maloney spoke about the tradition of the Scouts and the values the program instilled.  After Mass the families entered Hogwarts (Meletia Hall) and the fun began.  There was lively DJ music and plenty of dancing, great food and delicious desserts, a Magic Show, and prizes galore for both children and adults.  What more could you ask for?

When the last prize winner was announced, the families got ready to go home but the band of volunteers remained to take down the decorations and transform Hogwarts back into Meletia Hall—just like magic!

Events like this cannot happen without a strong support base.  We thank the many families who donated prizes and our local businesses:  Gino’s Restaurant, The Hit Factory, Delia’s Lounge & Charmed by JLM for their support.

In addition, we thank Chair Christina Cafiero, Cub Master John Cafiero, Assistant Cub Master Isaac Rathbone; Lions & Tigers Leaders: Bob Motavali & Clare O’Connor; Wolves Leaders: Katie McArdle & Jessica McKenna; Bears Leaders: Amy Laporte & Karen Rizak; Webelos 1 Leaders: John & Delmy McCluskey; and Webelos 2 Leader Jessica McKenna.  We also thank Jeanine Condon, Marla Rooney, & Eileen and Peter Loughlin for helping to decorate.

We hope you join us next year for the 2023 Blue & Gold Dinner to support Cub Scout Pack 313.  We know it will be another amazing event!

All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
