Catholic Schools Week 2023 at Bay Ridge Catholic was celebrated with the first St. Anselm Sunday Social of the new year, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy each other’s company, as well as a delicious assortment of drinks and treats. In addition to parishioners and parents, Academy teachers and students, on hand were Mr. Gary Williams, Principal of Bay Ridge Catholic, Fr. John Hwang, Pastor of St. Anselm Parish, Msgr. Phillips, Fr. Ray, Fr. Anthony, and Deacon Davis.
After the chatting and the snacking, the day did not end. In fact, the most important part of the day was just beginning as the Academy teachers, students, and Principal Williams, were on hand to answer questions and conduct tours of the building with parents, whose children were already receiving the wonderful Catholic education offered by the Academy, and – with the parents who were interested in possibly sending their children to Bay Ridge Catholic. Moreover, the January 29th Sunday Social and Open House were just the start of a series of activities and programs to show parents and the community just how great Bay Ridge Catholic is.
Events like the Sunday Socials don’t just happen, and so – our heartfelt thanks to a wonderful group of volunteers: Christina Cafiero, Jeanine Condon, Barbara & Sanjin Fabris, Bob Kassenbrock, Eileen & Peter Loughlin, Linda Naradovy, Judy Savarese, Pat Stramka, and Josephine Volpe; as well the fantastic Bay Ridge Catholic students: Student Council President John C. and Student Council Members/Volunteers: Donovan, Robert, Liam, Connor, Giovanni, Vincent, Samuel, Julian, Daniel, Joseph, John C., & Sam – who set-up, served, and cleaned-up with enthusiasm and a smile.
