March 12, 2023 – St. Anselm Sunday Social

Spring was in the air! …as St. Anselm Parish held its March 12, 2023 Sunday Social.  Despite the cold, overcast day – gardens around Bay Ridge were in bloom with crocuses and daffodils; tulips were pushing up through the ground while forsythia and elm buds swelled on their branches. With St. Patrick’s Day, St. Joseph’s Day and the Spring Equinox nearly upon us, there was a promise of new beginnings.

New Beginnings as Bay Ridge Catholic hosted an Open House to introduce prospective parents to the wonderful educational opportunities available to students this spring and in the 2023 – 2024 academic year. On hand to guide interested parents were Mr. Gary Williams, Principal of the Academy and a host of teachers and staff, as well as enthusiastic student volunteers – ready to conduct parents around the building.

Also on hand to greet parishioners and show support for the wonderful Catholic educational values exemplified by BRC were the priests of St. Anselm: Fr. John Hwang, Pastor, Fr. Ray, Fr. Anthony, and Msgr. Phillips, our retired pastor, and Deacon Tom.

Needless to say, this being a St. Anselm Sunday Social, everyone present had the opportunity to chat and socialize while enjoying a delicious assortment of treats and drinks – coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and juices and of course bottled water, thanks to our wonderful committee: Margo Behette, Bob Kassenbrock, Eileen & Peter Loughlin, Linda Nardovy, Nancy Nolan, Judy Savarese, Josephine Volpe and the fantastic student volunteers from Bay Ridge Catholic: Connor, Liam, Jack and Zoe.

All the best,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
