May 14, 2023 – Mother’s Day and Youth Activities Sunday Social

On May 14th, St. Anselm held its last Sunday Social for the 2022 – 2023 academic year, and it was an occasion to celebrate. To celebrate St. Anselm Youth Activities on the occasion of its annual drawing of its 50/50 Raffle, to celebrate our Mothers on this Sunday set aside to honor mothers, and to celebrate a successful year of Sunday Socials after a covid break of several years.

While parishioners gathered to enjoy delicious pastries and hot coffee, tea, and cocoa – chatting happily, Fr. John, Fr. Anthony, and Deacon Tom were on hand to greet parishioners and wish the mothers “Happy Mother’s Day” on their special day.

But, the highlight of the gathering was the drawing of the Youth Activities 50/50 Raffle (every ticket was sold!). The winning raffle ticket was drawn with Anthony LoPiccolo, president of St. Anselm Youth Activities announcing the lucky winner. Congratulations to the winner and thank you to all the parishioners and friends of Youth Activities who purchased tickets! The annual raffle is an important fundraiser to support the many worthwhile programs offered by St. Anselm Youth Activities for our children. And – a special “Thank You” to Youth Activities for donating the delicious treats enjoyed at the May Sunday Social.

Many thanks to our Sunday Social Committee: Jeanine Condon, Barbara & Sanjin Fabris, Bob Kassenbrock, Eileen & Peter Loughlin, Linda Nardovy, Josephine Volpe, and Judy Savarese who made the May Social possible, as well as the many volunteers: Margo Behette, Marisa Christina D’Alessio, Nancy Nolan, Pat Stramka, and the fantastic student volunteers from Bay Ridge Catholic Academy: Connor, Daniel, Donovan, Giovanni, Jack, Julian, John C., Joseph, Liam, Robert, Vincent, Sam, Samuel, and Zoe – whose time and effort at the Socials during the 2022-23 year is greatly appreciated!

We hope you will join us at our next Sunday Social in September. We’d love to see you there!

All the best,
The Sunday Social Committee
