On Friday, October 6th following the 11am First Friday Mass, Bay Ridge Catholic families brought their furry family members to the front of St. Anselm Church for a special blessing in commemoration of the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assisi. Our pastor, Fr. John Hwang, read the prayer for the Blessing of the Animals and then met with each family and pet giving each an individual blessing. Judging by the number of smiles, laughter, and tail wags it was safe to say that a wonderful time was had by all!
We are grateful to everyone who brought their littlest family members to be blessed and to BRC Principal Paul Morisi and Secretary Dawn Torpey for arranging this blessing. Finally, a very special “Thank You” to Fr. John for making this such a warm, welcoming event for families and the pets they cherish!
All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
