October 20, 2023 – Oktoberfest at Bay Ridge Catholic

The rainfall on October 20th resulted in a change of location for the annual Bay Ridge Catholic (BRC) Oktoberfest from the Courtyard to the Auditorium, but it couldn’t dampen the spirits of those who attended!  This fundraiser for educational programs at BRC was hosted by the BRC Father’s Club and not a single thing was overlooked in the planning.  There was a feast of Bavarian pretzels, bratwurst, and other delicious German food and, of course, something to wash down all the fine fare.  The band Rebel Kicks kept the night lively with cover versions of songs by Paul Simon, Stealers Wheel, The Allman Brothers Band, Fleetwood Mac, and the Beatles.  In addition, there was a birthday celebration complete with cake.  (Happy birthday and many happy returns, Luisa!)

We are grateful to Dan & Jessica McKenna and volunteers Danielle Long, Kelly Nash, Vanessa Palmese, and John Thomas for creating the welcoming environment and being such attentive hosts.  A special thanks to Peppino’s Liquor Store, Skinflints Restaurant, and the Brennan Family for their generous donations.  Finally, we thank everyone who attended the event and made it such a success.  We can’t wait for next year!

All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
