December 23, 2023 – Decorating the Church for Christmas

With warm hearts parishioners gathered on Saturday afternoon, December 23rd, to decorate our church for Christmas.

Thanks to our sacristan, Cono D’Alora, a great deal of the work had already been done. The Christmas trees in the sanctuary were set up, crowned with stars and decked with strings of lights. Lighted garland fronted the sanctuary railing, banners were hung on the front of the pulpit and by the St. Joseph shrine. The Nativity crèche in the St. Anselm Chapel awaited only the arrival of the infant Jesus, and wreathes hung throughout the church.

Now, to complete the decorating, a group of happy volunteers gathered to strip the plastic sleeves off of the dozens of poinsettias and place them throughout the sanctuary and the church. Our thanks to all those who came out to beautify our church for Christmas: Fr. Ray, Bob, Cono, Danielle, Eileen, Florence, Gerry, Josephine, Judy, Kim, Liz, Ossie, and Patrick.

“Thank you” to all our parishioners, whose support of the Flower Donation Collection made the beautiful display possible.

And – “Thank you” to all the volunteers throughout the year, who contribute so much to St. Anselm Parish.

All the Merry Best,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
