March 30, 2024 – Decorating the Church for Easter

St. Anselm Parishioners gathered in the church on Holy Saturday afternoon to decorate the church for the celebration of Easter. White Easter lilies and blue and pink hydrangeas were stripped of their protective plastic wraps, watered and then carried out from the Rosary chapel to be placed around the altar, along the front of the sanctuary and at the various shrines throughout the church.

Then, white calla lilies and two magnificent floral arrangements to flank the tabernacle were brought in to even more sumptuously decorate the sanctuary for the most sacred day of the church’s calendar.

The freshly washed and ironed altar cloth, new candles, the Easter banner and the Resurrection statue of Our Lord completed the preparation for the Paschal Vigil Mass to take place that evening.

Thank You to the many parishioners who donated to the Easter plant fund and to many volunteers: Fr. John, Fr. Ray, Anne & Dan, Bernadette, Bob, Christine & Issy, Danielle & Rob, Florence & Ossie, Kim, Liz, Mary Jane, Philip and Rolando – who gave their time and talent to ready our church for Easter.

We wish you all a most joyous Easter Season!

All the best,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
