May 12, 2024 – Mother’s Day & Youth Activities Sunday Social

On May 12th, St. Anselm held its last Sunday Social for the 2023 – 24 year. It was an opportunity to celebrate St. Anselm Youth Activities on the occasion of its annual 50/50 Raffle drawing and to celebrate all the wonderful activities YA provides for the youth of the parish. It was a gathering to celebrate our mothers on this special day set aside to honor mothers. And it was an occasion to celebrate a successful year of Sunday Socials.

At the Social, parishioners gathered, enjoying delicious pastries and hot coffee, tea, and cocoa, while chatting happily with Fr. John, Fr. Ray, Msgr. Phillips and Deacon Tom who greeted parishioners and wished the mothers “Happy Mother’s Day”.

But, the highlight of the morning was the drawing of the Youth Activities 50/50 Raffle – the winning raffle ticket being drawn with Anthony LoPiccolo, president of St. Anselm Youth Activities, who announced the lucky winner. Congratulations to the winner and thank you to all the parishioners and friends of Youth Activities who purchased tickets!

Sunday Socials are only possible because of the many generous individuals who give of their time and energy to make them happen. On hand to help set up, serve and clean up at the May Social were the girls from Troop 18G: Kelly, Samantha, Leanne, Katelyn, Cheyenne, Nicole, Annie, and Amy – thank you ladies. And – thank you to our wonderful committee chairs: Barbara Fabris and Eileen Loughlin, and a great group of volunteers who served, not only at this Social, but at the 8 Socials throughout the year: Shirley Chin, Jeanine Condon, Danique, Sanjin Fabris, Bob Kassenbrock, Peter Loughlin, Linda Naradovy, Nancy Nolan, Judy Savarese, Pat Stramka, Melissa Torres, Mary Jane Tunny and Josephine Volpe!

Our first Sunday Social of 2024 – 25 will be on September 22nd. See you then!

All the best,
