Saint Anselm parishioners happily gathered in Bay Ridge Catholic Academy’s McMahon Auditorium on Sunday, September 22nd for our first social of the 2024 – 2025 year.
On hand were Msgr. Phillips, Fr. Ray, Deacon Tom and parishioners, young and old, who enjoyed the opportunity to chat about their summer activities and upcoming events – all the while enjoying a delicious selection of donuts and candy treats served by the young ladies of Scout Troop 18G.
Also present were a host of Academy children and parents, who had just attended the 10AM Mass, during which the start of a new school year was celebrated with a “Blessing of the Backpacks” of Academy students. At the 10AM Mass, Mr. Sal Tinervia was installed as the Parish Youth Minister. We wish Mr. Tinervia much success in his ministry – Welcome to Saint Anselm!
“Thank You” to the volunteers who handled the setting up, serving and cleaning up with a smile: Shirley Chin, Bob Kassenbrock, Peter & Eileen Loughlin, Linda Naradovy, Nancy Nolan, Judy Savarese, and Mary Jane Tunney, and a special thank you to the young ladies of Scout Troop 18G: Amy, Annie, Chloe E., Chloe J., Leanne, Katelyn, Nicko, Samantha, and Sophie.
We also say, “thank you”, to the parishioners who contributed to the Sunday Social Fund – your support is appreciated.
We hope to see you at future socials coming up during the year.
All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
