December 8, 2024 – St. Anselm Youth Activities Christmas Workshop

On Sunday, December 8th, during the 50th anniversary year of Youth Activities, – the much-loved annual Christmas Workshop in the Academy’s McMahon Auditorium and Meletia Hall was held. The event attracts participants of all ages for the fun of creating beautiful Christmas decorations, wreaths, table centerpieces, and miniature trees, all the while enjoying the company of family and friends. In fact, many of the participants have been taking part in this wonderful holiday activity for decades!

They came by the dozens (and dozens!), happy to pass through the 4th Avenue doors, which were flanked by giant toy soldiers, to enjoy an afternoon of creativity and fun. To put the finishing touches on their masterpieces, participants had the opportunity to purchase bows, ribbons, and ornaments to complete the decoration of their creations.

Of course, everyone dressed for the occasion, wearing an array of headpieces with Santas, candy canes, Christmas trees, and the always-popular reindeer antlers. There were earrings and necklaces in an amazing assortment of holiday designs, with Christmas tree lights, the favorite. Blouses and scarfs in holiday colors, shirts proclaiming holiday messages, and the traditional Youth Activities Workshop apron completed the beautiful and amazing display of holiday dress-up.

While they worked at their designs, participants had the opportunity to take a chance on the beautiful selection of raffle gifts and the 50/50 raffle, all to the purpose of raising funds to support the wonderful Youth Activities programs.

Organizing the Christmas Workshop is a monumental labor of love, and so a special “thank you” to the 2024 Chairs: Michele Soto and Anne Texeira, as well as to an army of volunteers: Barbara Thomas, John Cafiero, Kiera Thomas, Gabi Soto, Sami Soto, Daniella Fallah, Jack Gallagher, Megan Heaney, Thomas Manto, Sara Medina, Frankelly Adames, and Ignacio who made this wonderful, joyous event possible.

Congratulations St. Anselm Youth Activities on a wonderfully successful Christmas Workshop and on 50 years of service to the children of St. Anselm and the community!

All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
