April 19, 2025 – Decorating the Church for Easter

St. Anselm parishioners gathered on Holy Saturday afternoon – April 19, 2025 to decorate our church for Easter. In the Rosary Chapel, wrappings were removed from white lilies and colorful hydrangeas that had been delivered on Good Friday. The plants were watered and placed around the altar and in the sanctuary to remind us of the most important celebration in our church year – the Resurrection of Our Lord.

To “renew” every part of the church, plants were placed in front of the shrines.  Our beautiful banner “The Resurrection and the Life” was hung; a new altar cloth, the gift from a generous parishioner, was placed on the altar, the Paschal candle for 2025 and the statue of the Risen Lord were positioned in the sanctuary.

We at St. Anselm have many people to thank for the beautiful Easter decorating of the church, especially our generous parishioners who donated to the Easter flower fund which enabled the parish to purchase the beautiful plants, our wonderful Decorating Committee chairs: Florence Diaz & Eileen Loughlin, and the many dedicated volunteers: Fr. John, Fr. Ray, Ann, Heather, Joy, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Bob, Mary Jane, Danielle, Rob, Patrick, Connor, Izzy, Christine, Kim, Josephine, Esperanza, Judy, Margot, Thomas, Scarlet, and Lynn, who gave their time to prepare our church for the celebration of Easter.

The Easter Season lasts until June 8th, when we celebrate the Descent of the Holy Spirit at the Solemnity of Pentecost – the “birthday of the Church”.  We wish you all a most joyous Easter Season!

Wishing you Easter Blessings,

The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
