June 29, 2025 – Farewell Reception for Fr. John

On Sunday, June 29th, the Saint Anselm Parish family gathered to celebrate and give thanks for Fr. John Hwang’s faithful service as our pastor.

Following the 12 Noon Mass, parishioners gathered for a reception in Meletia Hall to say “thank you” and “best wishes” as Fr. John began his new role as Master of Ceremonies for Bishop Brennan.

Parishioners enjoyed the opportunity to chat with Fr. John, while enjoying a delicious selection of drinks, sandwiches, cookies and – of course CAKE!!! Making the gathering even more fun – Saint Anselm Youth Activities held its annual 50/50 Raffle during the reception – congratulations to the lucky winner, “thank you” to all those who supported the raffle with the purchase of tickets and to Youth Activities for all the many wonderful programs you offer our young people through out the year.

Thank you to the St. Anselm Parishioner’s for coming out to the Mass and the reception, and to the volunteers who made the day a successful celebration: Jeanine Condon, Bob Kassenbrock, Eileen & Peter Loughlin, Shirley Chin, Barbara & Sanjin Fabris, Jo Volpe, Linda Naradovy, Judy Savarese – and the terrific young ladies from Troop 18G: Kelly, Leanne, Katelyn, Amy, Annie, Chloe E., Chloe L., Alicia, and Sophie.

During the past three years, Fr. John has served our parish community with dedication, energy and compassion – we wish him every blessing as he begins the next chapter in his priestly ministry.

All the best,
The St. Anselm Publicity Committee
